Tribute to Glen Minto
Glen Lawford Minto was my friend and mentor for many years. Young and fabulously talented, he taught me not only moves but also styling techniques, lead and follow clarity, multiple options for executing beautiful dance moves, etc.
When he began complaining that he was having trouble swallowing, I never dreamed this young, strong, smart friend would wind up seriously ill in his early 40s.
Glen passed away at age 44. A part of my heart died with him. The videos below show some of the wonderful things we did together.
Social dancing scene was at a club in London when we visited there. The guy dancing with Glen was one of our students who had moved to England.
Glen helped design and demonstrate a Bachata routine that we taught someone for a Dancing with the Stars-style competition.
We taught a wedding couple a version of the Mambo Routine in the movie Dirty Dancing. This was a practice video, meant to help the couple review the choreography between our classes with them.
HHM program for UnderArmour headquarters in Baltimore. We performed in the last shift of that show for the day!
Barb & Glen teach Latin dances at a Hispanic Heritage Month program at a college in Florida.
