Since the early 2000s, Barb Bernstein has taught Latin dance and directed DanceInTime, offering private and group instruction, Salsa Bootcamps, and special programs for Hispanic Heritage Month and Women’s History Month. She has designed team-building events (including a Salsa session for the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders), coached contestants for “Dancing with the Stars”-style fundraisers, and helped wedding couples prepare their first dance.

Barb is known for clear instruction and original teaching methods. She has taught for-credit dance courses at American University, George Washington University, the University of Maryland, George Mason University, and Prince George’s Community College.

In November 2024, she published Salsa Dancing & Rueda de Casino Guidebook, a comprehensive resource featuring hundreds of step descriptions paired with companion videos. The book includes chapters on styling, lead/follow technique, Latin rhythms—plus photos, personal stories, and playful side notes from years on the dance floor.

Her performance work spans major venues including the Kennedy CenterCapital One Arena, and World Bank Galas, as well as local festivals and schools. She has performed with her team at special events in New York, Miami, San Francisco, San Juan, Baltimore, and Washington, DC.  Whether Barb is running a class or team rehearsal, laughter and learning go hand in hand.
