Rhythm Reminder
Practice makes perfect—or at least better! Danceintime Director Barbara Bernstein and her colleague Michele Kearney recorded Rhythm Reminder, below, which has a voice-over marking the timing of the dancers' steps. This simple idea creates a great tool for dance practice. It is like having a dance teacher available at any time, marking the beat so you can concentrate on the step patterns.
Practicing to these tracks is productive, relaxing, and fun. They feature original music for Single Swing, Triple Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, and Foxtrot. After each song, the piece is repeated without the voice-over, so you can also practice on your own.
Most of the dance styles have both a slow and a faster track. It’s always best to start slow with the goal of accuracy and good technique, and then move up to faster rhythms.

And don’t forget that a great way to test out these skills on the dance floor is to join a Danceintime class!
